In Bangkok, Thailand, the sport is in full swing! On November 9th, 2025 they are 2025 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships launched, an event that brings together both men's and women's teams from Asia and Oceania. The championships will be held at the Centara Life Government Complex & Convention Center and will run until November 15. Over a dozen nations are competing to qualify for the 2026 IWBF World Championships in Ottawa, Canada.
The first two days of the tournament have already provided impressive scenes. During the opening round, the Thai women were in top form in front of their home crowd and won their match. There was also a thrilling upset as Japan defeated China in a closely fought game. In the men's category, Australia and Iran also delivered strong performances.

The Iranian teams showed their best side. The women's team,Team Melli Banovan, was able to defeat the Philippines with a clear 60-10 in Division B. The men were also successful and won their game against China 89-30. They will continue their successful path on Sunday when the women's team faces Cambodia and the men's team faces Japan, with the pressure on the shoulders of the Iranian athletes after two clear victories. This shows once again how important these championships are as qualifying tournaments not only for the 2026 IWBF World Championships, but also for the Asia Para Games 2026 are.
