A stay at the Ritz-Carlton on Koh Samui is like diving into another world. When I arrived in the luxurious suite, I was treated to a warm, personalized welcome. Fresh local fruits, snacks and even a coneflower decorated with my name were waiting for me. The spacious suite with breathtaking sea views and private infinity pool was the perfect retreat. Particularly impressive was the bathroom, which had glass walls and a freestanding bathtub that invited me to relax while I enjoyed the sweeping views over the sea.

The dining experience at the Ritz-Carlton was nothing short of a celebration. On the first evening, I enjoyed traditional southern Thai cuisine in a private Thai sala at Pak Tai Restaurant. The menu offered an exciting mix of spicy, sour, creamy, salty and sweet flavors, with the helpful staff helping me make the perfect selection. On the second evening I went to the Sea Breeze Grill, where I admired the sunset over fresh, perfectly grilled fish, while an impressive fire show on the beach enchanted the atmosphere.

A feast for the senses

The third evening in the restaurant The View, which is committed to a Mediterranean style and offered the best views of the sea, crowned my stay. Each Ritz-Carlton restaurant had its own charm, from relaxed beach vibes to elegant settings - there was something for everyone.

Koh Samui is known for its wonderful beaches and the warm hospitality of the locals. The range of luxury resorts the island has to offer is impressive. These include the Napasai Samui, another 5-star hotel that boasts a private beach, an infinity pool with sea views, and a world-class spa. There, too, you will find spacious villas in Thai decor that are equipped with modern amenities and offer guests a comfortable stay.

The hotel and restaurant scene in Koh Samui has noticeably increased in importance in recent years. The focus is not only on luxurious accommodation, but also on dining experiences that reflect the local flair. As you can hear, the gastronomy at the Ritz-Carlton is described as particularly impressive. The focus is currently on authentic Thai cuisine in order to introduce guests to the full spectrum of Thailand's culinary heritage.

A look into the future

As Koh Samui booms, the new Ritz-Carlton in Bangkok also opens its doors and promises to be another luxurious option in Thailand's capital. With 25 floors and 206 rooms, it will be part of the comprehensive One Bangkok project, which combines offices, living space and a hotel. The architecture and design should meet the high standards of the Ritz-Carlton chain and thus also attract future guests.

Whether it's Koh Samui or Bangkok, Thailand is clearly on its way to becoming a home to some of the most exclusive accommodation and dining experiences. It looks like the luxury travel trend in this beautiful country is far from over.
