Thailand at ITB Asia 2025: Sustainable tourism in focus!
In the coming days it's all about tourism in Asia, as ITB Asia 2025 takes place in Singapore from October 15th to 17th. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is on site with 22 selected travel providers to present the kingdom as an attractive travel destination. But what makes this event so special?
ITB Asia not only serves as a platform for business relationships, but also sees itself as an ideas workshop for the future of the travel and tourism industry. The event under the motto “Future Forward: Transforming Travel & Tourism in a Changing World” is organized by Messe Berlin Asia Pacific and attracts numerous decision-makers. TAT wants to increase the return visit rate of international tourists and relies on sustainable business practices, which also played a central role in the selection of the 22 participating companies.
Thailand's presence at ITB Asia
Companies representing Thailand include renowned names such as Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit and Melati Beach Resort and Spa, as well as exciting attractions such as Jurassic World: The Experience and Vana Nava Water Jungle. This diversity shows that Thailand is not only known for its beaches and culture, but also for innovative tourism offerings.
In a modern Thai stand, visitors can expect not only business discussions, but also cultural activities, including the presentation of Thai herbal products. As of October 12, 2025, over 25 million international tourists had already visited Thailand, and Singapore represents an important market, with over 73,000 visitors in the first nine months of the year.
A look into the future
Participation in ITB Asia 2025 is part of TAT's broader strategy to increase tourism demand not only from Singapore but also from other Asian countries. “We want to develop targeted marketing strategies for various segments such as health tourism, luxury travel and sports tourism,” says a TAT official. With an average stay of 4.7 days per trip and spending of over 45,000 baht, the potential of the Singapore market, which consists of over 80% repeat guests, is demonstrated.
Parallel to ITB Asia, there are also interesting conferences on strategic topics for the future of the tourism industry, such as the Knowledge Theater with speakers from top organizations. Not only challenges but also opportunities are discussed here in order to make the industry future-proof.
For comparison, there is also enormous interest in sustainable tourism, which the TAT has already successfully demonstrated at ITB Berlin 2025. There, Thailand presented the “Sustainable Thailand Soft Power” approach and set an example for culture and innovation with a significantly enlarged pavilion.
Overall, one could say: The TAT has a good hand when it comes to keeping Thailand high on the international tourism maps. ITB Asia 2025 offers a valuable opportunity to maintain existing networks and establish new collaborations. Stay tuned, because the coming days are sure to bring many exciting insights into the future of travel!
