Air France launches new flight connection from Paris to Phuket!

The aviation industry is celebrating exciting news: there is now a direct connection between Paris and Phuket! On November 27, 2025, Air France launched its non-stop flight AF156, departing Paris at 3:50 p.m. and arriving in Phuket at 9:25 a.m. the next day. The modern Boeing 777-200, which has space for 328 passengers, flies between the two cities three times a week. This new connection is seen by many as a real win for international tourism, particularly for the increasing number of French travelers wishing to visit Thailand. According to Nation Thailand, 710,968 French tourists have already visited Thailand from January to November 2025, representing a notable increase of 13.8% compared to last year.

What are the flight offers like? Flights from Paris to Phuket are scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while return flights from Phuket to Paris depart on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This targeted flight frequency offers travelers the flexibility to make optimal use of their time in the popular holiday region. In addition, the Air France offer in Thailand did not stand still: the airline is introducing two daily direct flights to Bangkok all year round, which further increases the options for travelers.

A growing tourist market

France attaches great importance to promoting its travel behavior. With the “Air France Digital Campaign Inspirational Gold Package” initiative, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is collaborating to make the beauty of Thailand better known in France. Phuket, known for its beautiful beaches and cultural highlights, attracts a wide range of travelers - from luxury tourists to backpackers and those interested in culture. This year, the total number of French tourists in Thailand is expected to reach 846,000, underlining the attractiveness of the kingdom.

The great interest in traveling to Thailand is a welcome development, especially after the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, 32.4 million international travelers visited Thailand and the country aims to continue growing in 2025 with an estimated 36 to 40 million international tourists. This revival of the sector is a testament to Thailand's enduring charm, which remains despite all the challenges; Phuket attracted more than 9.89 million visitors in 2025 alone, a testament to the island's continued popularity as a travel destination. According to Road Genius, tourists spend an average of over 9 days in Thailand, further increasing passion and engagement for the country.

Air France's new flight connection to Phuket International Airport (HKT) contributes to expanding the tourist offer. Phuket is considered an important hub for international tourism in Thailand and is therefore included in the list of internationally sought-after travel destinations. By expanding its Asian network with this connection, Air France not only opens new doors for travelers, but also strengthens its market position in the region, as Aviation A2Z reports.

The coming months promise not only exciting trips for tourists, but also positive developments for the Thai economy, which has increasingly recovered from the difficult times during the pandemic. With the diverse offerings and attractions that Thailand has to offer, the country remains a top destination for travel from all over the world.
