ONE BANGKOK: The future of urban quality of life begins now!

Today, November 5, 2025, an exciting open discussion entitled OPEN-TEC took place at ONE BANGKOK, moderated by Waleeporn Sayasit, the Assistant Managing Director of TCC Technology. The main theme of the event was managing a large site through digital enablement. Participants included high-profile professionals including Jeremy Yeo, Senior Vice President and Head of District Operations & Facility Management at One Bangkok, as well as Leonard Oh, Chief Executive Technology Services Business at Certis and Teerapan Luengnaruemitchai, Managing Director of TCC Technology. In particular, it was about integrating technology and human design to provide users with an optimal experience.

ONE BANGKOK is Thailand's first fully integrated Smart Urban District and only opened in October 2024. It is an impressive 1.8 million square meters in size and focuses on sustainable, people-centered living. According to thaipr.net, the project is considered the largest active mixed construction project in Southeast Asia. IoT services are used to provide a comfortable environment for more than 100,000 people who live, work and visit there every day.

Technology and infrastructure

A constant focus on digital empowerment is evident in various components of One Bangkok. This includes, for example, the District Command Center, which is the central hub for operational efficiency and customer service. These include a contact center, a facility management center for intelligent systems and a security operations center that offers comprehensive protection. The installation of over 250,000 IoT sensors on the site enables precise, real-time data analysis to continuously improve the user experience, reports ddxtransformation.com.

Another highlight is the robust digital infrastructure, which is provided both wired and wirelessly. TCC Technology's partners, especially ddx, play a key role in the integration of new smart services and the implementation of a central integration platform. This is intended to create a uniform database that combines different systems and thus enables seamless synchronization.

Sustainability and partnerships

One Bangkok's core principles are sustainability and human-centered design. It is said to be the first project in Thailand to achieve LEED Platinum certification for neighborhood development. This is underpinned by the use of recycled building materials as well as systems to reduce energy and water consumption. In addition, those responsible within the framework of Fraunhofer.de are working on the continuous development of innovative solutions to meet the challenges of a smart city, with the focus not only on technology, but also on the involvement of the community.

Partnerships are crucial in the context of One Bangkok. They enable the exchange of best practices and the use of effective digital transformation strategies. With the right mix of co-creation and the implementation of various stakeholder needs, we are successfully working on a smart city of the future.

The One Bangkok project not only enables impressive construction, but also becomes a pioneer for sustainable, digital and user-friendly urban development in the region. It remains exciting to see whether these ambitions actually bear fruit in practice.
