The Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok was literally the heart of student football today as the grand finale of the 2025 7HD Student Football Tournament took place. With brilliant weather and a high number of spectators, the event became a sporting festival that captivated the spectators. Organizers asked fans to stay on the track during the game to ensure everyone's safety. Exciting moments were guaranteed!
In the final game, the Mor Thong Witthaya school from Chachoengsao and the Chai Nat provincial administration school, which emerged as runner-up last year, faced off. The two teams, led by coaches Sakon Kliangprasert and Anusorn Pansantia, had already demonstrated their strengths in the semi-finals. Mor Thong Witthaya beat Assumption Sriracha school 6-3, while Chai Nat defeated Hua Hin Wittayakhom school 5-3, making the final an absolute blast.
An exciting final game
The game started with a bang: in the 3rd minute, Akani Phusutsung used a free kick to give Mor Thong Witthaya a 1-0 lead. This early lead gave the team a boost and they were able to defend their narrow lead until halftime. But in the 34th minute the tide turned: Thirathap Thongkham equalized to make it 1-1 for Chai Nat, which brought the atmosphere in the stadium to a boil.
The tension continued to rise until Chanthawat Katip finally scored the decisive goal for Chai Nat to make it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. Ironically, Mor Thong Witthaya could no longer avert the impending defeat and so the title went to Chai Nat. With this great performance they more than deserved the championship title of the tournament.
Proud awards and the future of football
The 7HD student soccer tournament is more than just a competition; it is a springboard for young talent. On the football stage, not only were the teams celebrated, but individual players were also recognized for their special achievements: Theerathep Thongkam from Chai Nat, Warakorn Changkhian from Mor Thong and Nattachon Chanthi from Assumption Sriracha received MVP awards. These awards demonstrate the commitment shown to students.
The tournament also served as a venue for the game between “Team GES” (Education Fund) and “Team 7HD Champion”, which underlined the festive nature of the event. Additionally, the TAR Thailand Pre-Qualifiers, which is officially recognized as part of the TAR ASIA Qualifiers, offers young Thai footballers an excellent platform to showcase their talents and compete with other elite clubs from Asia. The winner of this tournament will have the chance to represent Thailand at the TAR U11 Promises in Barcelona, where they will compete against renowned European teams including the likes of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Such initiatives are essential to promote Thai youth football and find new hope for the future.
