LEGO® Certified Store: opening in Chiang Mai delights fans!

On October 31, 2025, a new attraction for LEGO fans young and old was opened in Chiang Mai: the first “LEGO® Certified Store” in the north of Thailand. Located in the Central Chiang Mai Shopping Center, this newly designed shop spans over 177 square meters and offers a world of creative possibilities and entertainment.

The operators, Central Pattana Public Company Limited in collaboration with the LEGO Group and DKSH (Thailand) Company Limited, are pursuing an exciting concept called “Retailtainment”. This is a successful combination of shopping experience and entertainment. The aim is to make the store a new meeting place for fans and tourists who want to discover the colorful and creative world of LEGO.

A special highlight of the opening

An impressive LEGO work of art was presented at the opening: a mother and baby elephant, which consists of more than 186,000 LEGO bricks and took 400 hours to build. This work of art weighs over 200 kilograms and symbolizes the cultural roots of Chiang Mai.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of prominent guests such as Mr. Chamankha Ui, Mr. Pornthep Atthakitpaisan and Ms. Kanyaphak Posirin and featured a host of special promotions. From October 31st to November 15th, shoppers can benefit from various offers on their purchases:

A look at the LEGO World in Thailand

The opening in Chiang Mai is part of LEGO's larger strategy to expand its business in Thailand. Since the first LEGO store in Thailand in Siam Paragon in 2025, the brand has steadily expanded its offering. The first shops in Bangkok are already enjoying great popularity and attracting numerous visitors.

LEGO has recognized that the Thai market offers great potential. Despite lower sales compared to Europe, more than 400,000 visitors are expected to visit the new Chiang Mai store in the first year, 60% of whom will be Thai customers. Estimated sales could be 100 million baht in the first year and rise to 300 million baht within five years.

Interest in LEGO products in Thailand is at an emerging level, and the brand now has a market share of 20-25% in the education segment. It will therefore be interesting to see how the community of LEGO enthusiasts in the region will develop further.
