Luxury living in Phuket: InterContinental brings exclusive residences!

A new chapter for luxury living in Phuket begins with the opening of The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort in picturesque Kamala. With an investment of over THB 2.5 billion (approximately USD 77 million), this project marks the second collaboration between Proud Real Estate and IHG Hotels & Resorts in Thailand. While the first project, the InterContinental Residences Hua Hin, has already been successfully sold, the focus is now on the current venture, which is intended to attract travelers and future homeowners alike. Hospice reports that the project with 111 exclusive residential units on “Millionaire’s Mile” on Kamala Beach not only meets the demand for luxury real estate in the country, but also sets new standards for sustainable living.

With a fascinating architectural concept inspired by Sino-European and Peranakan cultures, the project follows the theme of “Far East Paradise”. The design includes stone facades, inviting courtyards and spacious balconies, all harmoniously integrated into the tropical landscape. The residences' interiors offer a calm geometry and demonstrate how modern design can be balanced with a cultural resonance.

Luxury and sustainability combined

The amenities of the residences are nothing to sneeze at. Residents can access 24-hour concierge and butler services and receive exclusive IHG One Rewards program membership benefits. Other amenities include access to renowned Michelin-awarded restaurants and an exquisite spa. The project will also be equipped with advanced wellness technologies such as Hydro Massage and Aqua Symphony and is aiming for Fitwel certification, which focuses on the well-being of residents. Branded Resi highlights that sustainability plays a key role in design, through the use of solar panels, water management systems and natural ventilation solutions.

The prices of the residences start from 15 million THB (approximately US$462,000) for one to five bedroom units. Even penthouses are available to suit residents' upscale lifestyles. Demand for such luxury properties in Phuket has increased significantly in recent years, especially given the market's recovery since the pandemic. An analysis of the Phuket property market shows how supply and prices are positively impacted by factors such as world-class infrastructure and a large expat community. Emigrate to TH reports that Phuket is now considered the largest resort destination in the region, which only increases its attractiveness for investors.

The best locations in Phuket

The opening of The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort is not only a win for the Phuket real estate market, but also reflects the trends driving the luxury segment. The popularity of the region, particularly in locations such as Kamala, Surin and Bang Tao, shows a significant price increase in recent years. With over 10 million tourists per year and stable demand from the expat community, Phuket continues to be a hot spot for investors looking to try their hand at real estate.

The real estate market is being shaped by four main trends: sustainability as a selling point, the demand for technologically advanced living solutions, flexible living concepts and the increase in long-term rental contracts as a result of the “workcation” movement. The innovative strength of new residential projects in Phuket, such as the Residences at InterContinental, positions the region as a leading location for future investment.
