Denmark flies directly to Phuket: winter dream for 61,000 holidaymakers!
The anticipation for sunny days in Thailand is growing! The first direct winter flights from Copenhagen to Phuket will start from November 2nd, 2025, a big step for tourism between Scandinavia and the popular island. TUI Fly Nordic, part of the TUI Group, brings Denmark to a number of countries that already offer direct flights to this dream destination, including Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
This expansion is not only good news for travelers, but also for Phuket's economy. About 61,000 European tourists are expected in the 2025/2026 winter season, which is expected to increase Phuket International Airport to around 400 flights per day. Those responsible at the airport have already created the infrastructural requirements to be able to handle up to 25 aircraft per hour, so that travelers can quickly start their holiday fun.
New flight offer
In total, TUI will expand direct connections to Phuket to ten flights per week. The routes include various Scandinavian cities such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and Gothenburg, as well as departures from Manchester and London Gatwick. Busy flight operations are expected, especially on weekends, with five arrivals per weekend. These additional flights are a sign of the positive development of the European travel market and send a strong signal of recovery.
Phuket – A tourism hotspot
Often referred to as the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea,” Phuket has something to offer for everyone. Thailand's largest island beckons with its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters for relaxing days or exciting activities. The doors are open to water sports enthusiasts, and the underwater world is a true paradise for snorkelers and divers. The island's nightlife also has its own magic, while numerous restaurants and bars invite you to spend sociable evenings.
The sights are diverse: whether the historic old town of Phuket, impressive temple complexes or exotic markets - every visit to the island promises new discoveries. A must-see is the large Buddha, which majestically watches over the island and serves as the perfect viewing point. For the adventurous, jungle excursions and hikes to beautiful waterfalls are on the program. If you then go island hopping to the famous Koh Phi Phi or James Bond Island, every holidaymaker will return home with unforgettable memories.
With the new flights and increasing demand, the TUI Group shows that Phuket is highly valued as an important tourism hub for Northern Europe and the United Kingdom. The coming winter season promises to be exciting as families and travel enthusiasts travel together to the relaxing sunshine of Thailand - the perfect place to escape the gray autumn!
