Virgin Atlantic launches direct flights to Phuket: luxury for travelers!
The anticipation of exotic travel destinations could soon reach a new peak. Virgin Atlantic recently announced that it will offer seasonal direct flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Phuket (HKT) from October 18, 2026. This new service, which will operate three times a week, is the only one of its kind between these two destinations and is expected to be particularly attractive to luxury holidaymakers. The use of a modern aircraft, the Boeing 787-9, not only provides direct access to this wonderful destination, but also a comfortable travel experience. Flight VS214 departs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and takes approximately 12 hours and 10 minutes to reach Phuket. The return flight VS215 is offered on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays and takes around 13 hours and 40 minutes.
What could be better than an unforgettable stay on this Thai island? Flights depart Heathrow at 12:00pm and arrive in Phuket at 7:10am the next day. The return flight leaves Phuket at 9:20 a.m., meaning travelers are in London at 4:00 p.m. the same day. The Boeing 787-9 cabin configuration accommodates 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy passengers, and each guest can look forward to full onboard service, including complimentary food and beverages and over 300 hours of entertainment. In addition, all aircraft are equipped with WiFi, which makes the journey even more pleasant.
Packages and price offers
For travelers with a difference, Virgin Atlantic Holidays has put together attractive package deals. Bookings open from October 30, 2025, with prices starting from £999 per person for a seven-night stay in a 4-star hotel. If you want something a little more luxurious, you can also take advantage of 5-star packages from £1,599 per person. The holiday offerings are varied and thanks to partnerships with Bangkok Airways, travelers also have the opportunity to explore other Thai destinations such as Bangkok and Koh Samui.
The planned route will be part of Virgin Atlantic's expanded winter offering, which also includes trips to destinations such as Cancun, the Maldives, Dubai, Cape Town and the Caribbean. With over 20 accommodation options in Phuket and more than 80 across Thailand, holidaymakers should find something to suit every budget. Anyone who discovers the beauties of Phuket will immediately be amazed by the fine beaches and the diverse gastronomy.
The beauty of Phuket island
Phuket is not only known for its beaches, but also impresses with its cultural highlights. Phuket Old Town is a true gem with its Sino-Portuguese architecture and colorful little shops showcasing craftsmanship. Here you can also discover the fascinating murals and relax in one of the many cafés. Another highlight is the Great Buddha of Phuket, which stands at an imposing height of 45 meters on Nakkerd Hill and is made of white marble. Visitors can enter there for free and even have a monk tie lucky bracelets for them.
For those interested in a cultural stroll, Wat Phra Thong and the old clock tower are recommended, as are the lively markets of Thalang Road, which turns into a colorful market on weekends. Whether it's temple visits, island hopping or the nightlife in Patong - Phuket has something to offer for everyone. If you have the opportunity, you should avoid elephant rides and wildlife shows during your visit in order to protect the local wildlife.
Overall, Virgin Atlantic's new connection promises a great travel experience to Phuket. From November 26, 2025, flights can be booked via the Virgin Atlantic website. So if you want a place for your next dream vacation, you will find it here. Paradise awaits!
