Christmas tree and friendliness: Chiang Mai combines creativity and community!

In Chiang Mai, where culture and tradition meet creative initiatives, a special campaign is currently being launched. The Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai is combining World Kindness Day with its popular Christmas tree tradition this festive period. This initiative starts today with a warm visit to the Wat Don Chan school, which cares for orphans and disadvantaged youth. Here, resort staff teach children the art of macramé to create handmade ornaments that will later decorate the Christmas tree at the resort's entrance.

“Each ornament represents not only creativity, but also the values of community and compassion,” says Sean Mosher, the resort’s general manager, describing the importance of this initiative. Anthony Tschudin, Resort Manager, also emphasizes how important it is to share knowledge and creativity with the boys and girls. The proceeds from the sale of these unique handicrafts flow directly into the Wat Don Chan School and thus support important social projects in the region.

A celebration of kindness and creativity

Accompanying this campaign, the Christmas tree will be lit in Lan Sai Village on December 22, 2025. Guests and locals are welcome to join in the festive experiences, which include a delicious Christmas dinner and convivial brunch at Rim Tai Kitchen. The restaurant offers an excellent selection of local dishes that reflect the culinary diversity of northern Thailand.

Idyllically located in northern Mae Rim, the Four Seasons Resort has made a name for itself not only through its luxurious comforts, but also through its promotion of community and local crafts. The resort's architecture is inspired by the region's traditional artisans and the high-quality accommodation offers views of the surrounding rice fields.
