Future visions for Chiang Mai: TEDx event announces exciting topics!
There is news in Chiang Mai that will make you sit up and take notice! The TEDxChiangMai 2025 will take place on November 15th and 16th, 2025 under the motto “Actions for Our Future”. The venue is UNISERV at Chiang Mai University, where everything revolves around the question: “How can we build a better future for Chiang Mai, Thailand and the world?” How Chiang Mai City Life reported, a public briefing was held at Monsoon Tea, Wat Ket Riverside on October 27, 2025 to announce the event and present the highlights.
The TEDxChiangMai, which has been active since 2011, has developed into a platform that gives space to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. This special event will be part of the global TED Countdown initiative and will act as a TED Countdown Anchor Event, meaning it will make a significant contribution to accelerating solutions to the climate crisis. This initiative goes hand in hand with the upcoming World Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025, as How Green Works highlights.
A diverse program
The event promises a varied program: over 15 speakers and artists – both national and international – will present their ideas and projects, supported by translations. The lectures are complemented by performances, workshops and interactive activities, all aimed at highlighting relevant topics such as climate, sustainability, innovation and community transformation. The focus on climate justice, corporate strategies and systemic thinking is particularly exciting, as in TED is outlined.
A unique highlight will be a community lunch that promotes exchange between participants. In addition, the event is designed to be as sustainable as possible: with a design that generates low waste and uses locally sourced products, CO2 emissions are also taken into account. UNISERV supports the implementation of these environmentally friendly practices and ensures that the event is CO2-neutral.
Tickets and engagement
Tickets are already available through Eventpop, with discounted prices offered for students, teachers, NGOs and government workers. The organisers, a dedicated team of volunteers in collaboration with Chiang Mai University, believe that a high number of participants will make the event a powerful and inspiring experience. The program will ultimately also be presented on the official TED YouTube channel, allowing access to the ideas and visions that will be discussed at TEDxChiangMai 2025.
